The foundation was established during the Mozambique missions outreach at a ladies conference in August of 2005 in Maputo, Mozambique. After seeing a gap in youth work in short-term mission work done by Mozambique missions in Mozambique, we decided to pilot a project with the youth. The first trip was undertaken by a group of 5 friends, Nkateko Ndala, Pfumelani Ndala, Ashley Magoro, Tumelo Malatji, and Peggy Maphanga in October 2006 on a pilot outreach. On that trip, the needs of the young people in Mozambique and since went to 3 different regions namely Maputo, Chokwe, and Xai-Xai in the subsequent years.

Conhecer is Portuguese for knowledge. As a foundation, we believe that the world’s (especially Africa) problems of poverty, bad economic and political decisions, diseases, wars, can be prevented by equipping young people into being good Biblical leaders through discipleship. We do not only believe that knowledge is power, but that Applied knowledge is power.

Our core projects are life skills workshops which include the following topics; Unwanted/teenage pregnancies; Drugs abuse, Suicide, and depression, Physical and Sexual Abuse, HIV/AIDS Workshops. We also focus on Education Workshops to fulfill our mission statement. The topics related to this focus are; goal setting, time management, Innovation, and leadership. We assist missionaries in the field with physical work, facilitating career guidance workshops locally, conduct socially uplifting projects, making youth socially aware and evangelism in a form of friendship, door to door, open-airs, and speaking at churches to mobilise them for missions.
